Château Moulin de La Grangere
St. Emilion Grand Cru
The 6 hectares of vineyards of Moulin de la Grangere are situated on clay-limestone soil on the slope of a natural amphitheatre with south/southeast exposure near the village of Saint-Émillion.
The perfect microclimate and the exceptional care of organic farming allow Valerie Durand and Alexi Bentejac to produce a delicious cuvée of 90% Merlot Noir and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, harvested by hand and vinified traditionally. The wine is matured in French oak barrels, 30% of which are new. The vinification and ageing is done together with the "bigger brother" Château de la Grangere.
The wine shows a dark colour with a nose of blackberries and red cherries. On the palate it is charming, supple, finely woody and with a nicely spiced finish, all on a fresh background.
